Keenan's research-based studio practice combines sculpture, video, and performance to tap into affective excess of social and cultural structures, including the service economy, youth subcultures, and queer histories. He has shown in numerous group and collaborative two-person shows and has initiated public participatory performances in major US cities, including Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
